For schools and families

Privacy & safeguarding

Plain answers to the questions schools ask first.

What we store

  • Parent and teacher accounts: email address, name (optional), whether you're a parent or teacher, and membership status.
  • Pupils in a class: the first name or nickname they typed, which class they joined, and which activities they finished and when.
  • At home: your child's progress, points and saved games stay in this browser on your device โ€” they aren't sent to us.

What we never collect

  • No email addresses, passwords, surnames, dates of birth or photos from children.
  • No chat, messaging or contact between users.
  • No advertising, no selling data, no tracking for marketing.

Who can see pupil data

  • Only the teacher who created the class can see its pupils and their activity grid.
  • Parents only see a summary if the teacher creates a share link for their child. Links are read-only, show only that one child, and expire after 30 days.
  • Our team can access data only to provide support or keep the service safe.

How teachers stay in control

  • Rename or remove any pupil โ€” removing them deletes their class activity straight away.
  • Change the class code at any time so no one new can join.
  • Switch off share links whenever you like.
  • Delete the whole class and every bit of pupil data in it with one button.

AI in the Teacher Toolkit

  • The toolkit is for adults only. Please don't type pupils' real names or personal details into it.
  • Children never talk to an AI on Lark Lesson Lab.

Safeguarding

  • Activities are written for primary-age children and checked for age-appropriate content.
  • There are no links out to social media or open web searches inside the games.
  • Concerns? Email hello@larklesson.online and we'll respond within two working days.
